1 in 2000

In e-Comm, we had a project to make a video of us interviewing a classmate. The purpose of interviewing a classmate was to learn more about our them and their unique summer. I interviewed Grace Burton. I learned that over the summer grace did a lot, but one of her favorite things was going to San Fransisco. Grace went to San Fransisco with her grandparents to visit family and this was graces first trip traveling without her parents and/or her brother. While she was in San Fransisco, she learned that the people there are very unique and everyone seems to have there own sense of style. She also saw that the buildings and places there were very "artsy" and one of a kind.



During the process of making this video we had to create voiceovers to go in the video. I have never done a voiceover like this before so it was very different then i am used to. I think looking back, doing the voiceover was probably one of the easiest parts of this project. I didn't like having to go in the hallway and record myself talking because i just felt awkward, but it helped me break out of my shell and realize that if i want to make more videos like this and produce them, i am going to need to get used to doing those kind of things so it was a good thing.



In the filming process i ran into a few problems. I had filmed the entire interview and ill i had to do left was edit, so i put my SD card in the computer to watch the clips and there was no sound in any of them. We were not sure what the problem was that made it not have sound, so i just got a different camera and re-filmed everything in a different location. I made sure right away that these clips had sound and thankfully they did. After all that happened everything went pretty smoothly and i got all the shots i needed in time. Even though i had to re-film everything, I'm glad it happened because it taught me that in e-Comm not everything will always go perfectly and just how i want it, but i have to learn how to make the best of it and find a different way to do what i need to.



If i could change anything through this experience i think i would have taken more wide shots of different things to have to play while my voiceover was playing. But besides that one thing, i really like how the rest of my video turned out and wouldn't change much else. I don't think doing interview videos has been my favorite project so far but it was different and a bit more of a challenge which i really liked.

Personal Project Review

In e-Comm we were assigned to make a video about the normal, everyday procedures at ONW. My partner and I made our video about getting out of class to go and get a drink of water. There was defiantly a process to creating this video. First, we had to think about what we wanted to film and the shots we wanted to include. Then, we created a storyboard and sketched out the way we wanted our video to look. Next, we actually filmed and got all the shots we needed and then edited all the shots to make them flow together nicer. Finally, after showing my video to the class and receiving feedback, i edited it again to make it as good as i could and turned it in. During the process of creating this video i learned multiple things. I learned how to use the editing app called Adobe Premier, i also learned how to use the professional cameras, and i gained in teamwork and collaboration skills. If i could redo this project i would probably take more close up shots and work on fixing the brightness. And, if i could redo it, i would have used the same procedure of getting a rink of water and i would've kept some of the same shots because i really liked the medium shots i got. I think overall this was a pretty easy assignment, and i learned a few things.

Quarter 2 Invasive Species Website

This is a website i made in Web design for Invasive species 

This Quarter in E-Comm we were assigned a team and created a product together. Our team name is RG-CHO. RG-CHO stands for our team names Ryan, Grace, Cory, Havannah, and Olivia. Together we created a product called the SnugMug. The SnugMug is a mug that can heat your drink with just the click of a button thats on the cup. I had a lot of fun creating this with my team. Because of how well our personalities matched, we worked pretty well together. In order to be able to work well together we had to listen to each other, and consider one another ideas. I think one of the main areas we struggled in as a team was communication. Some of our team members would be absent a lot without prior notice and sometimes not do their part. In my next group project i will definantly try to work harder on communication with my team. I would not really change anything because i think we did a pretty good job and I'm very happy with how our product turned out. I have improved more with group skills, leadership skills and technical skills. In video for this project, i did most of the shooting for the video. In animation, i made the basic outline of the little coffee shop place where our cup was going to be in. In graphic design, i made my own logo. In web design, i came up with some of the content for the website.

In this animation project, we did something very similar to what we did with our last project. The only thing different about this project is that we added more to it. For example, we have a name that the smiley face is bouncing on, and the smiley face is bouncing more than just up and down. So in this project we learned how to do those things.

To make this project in Animation, we used The video timeline setting rather than what we used earlier, which was the Frame-by-Frame animation. The video timeline was different because in the Frame-by-Frame animation you make a video by having different frames created from different layers which then creates the video. In the video timeline, you aren't only creating a video, but you're editing the layers or with this project, the different words, so that you can do things like make them fly in the picture, make them spin, shrink, etc.
